Public School in Town of Ajax

This project involved the construction of a new public school within a recently developed residential neighborhood in the Town of Ajax.


ZEL was retained to prepare a comprehensive Traffic Management Plan in support of the Site Plan Application. The plan was developed to ensure the safe and efficient circulation of students, parents, staff, and school buses, with particular focus on peak periods such as morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal.


The scope of work included the design of internal traffic lane configurations, on-site signage and pavement markings, and coordinated measures to address pedestrian road crossing and signage control at adjacent roads and intersections. The plan was prepared in accordance with the requirements of the School Board and the Town of Ajax.


Project Highlights:

  • Developed a site-specific Traffic Management Plan to support safe and efficient school operations.
  • Coordinated internal traffic circulation to minimize congestion and conflict points.
  • Designed signage and pavement markings in compliance with municipal and school board standards.
  • Addressed pedestrian safety through the implement of marked road crossings and signage on adjacent municipal roads and intersections.
